on april 18th, the appointment ceremony for iris geva-may, the distinguished visiting professor of tsinghua university, was held at the school of public policy and management of tsinghua university (hereinafter as tsinghua sppm). zhu xufeng, dean of tsinghua sppm, delivered a speech during the ceremony, introducing the biography and achievements of iris geva-may, and presented her with a letter of appointment signed by li luming, president of tsinghua university. professor liu zhilin, wang hongshuai, director of the graduate work group, shi shuting, deputy director of the office of international cooperation and exchange from tsinghua sppm, as well as all students participating in the doctoral dissertation workshop, attended the appointment ceremony.

professor iris geva-may is an internationally renowned scholar in the field of public policy. she is currently an honorary research professor at carleton university and an emeritus professor at simon fraser university in canada. she has previously held positions such as tenured full professor of policy studies at simon fraser university in canada and visiting and adjunct professor at the city university of new york in the united states. professor geva-may's primary research areas include comparative public policy, cultural theory and public policy research, and policy process theory. she has authored 10 books, including classics of comparative policy analysis, the logic and methodology of policy analysis for the 21st century, and comparative policy analysis research and practice, and published over 50 journal articles or book chapters. her representative papers have been published in top international journals in public policy or public administration, such as journal of public administration, research and theory, policy studies journal, journal of policy analysis and management, and public management review.
professor iris geva-may is committed to promoting the research and practice of comparative public policy globally. in 1998, she founded the journal of comparative policy analysis. additionally, she established the scholarly society for international comparative policy analysis (originally named the international comparative policy analysis-forum/icpa-forum), which has gained significant international influence and attracted membership from many top universities around the world. currently, icpa-forum maintains long-term partnerships with 10 internationally renowned academic organizations, including apsa, ipsa, mpsa, appam, and naspaa, and has established an award for outstanding papers in comparative policy analysis at relevant top international academic conferences.
